Rush hat weaving workshop

Spend the day learning how to weave your own sunhat made from rush, harvested by hand by me on the Somerset Levels.

During the day you will learn how rush is harvested and prepared for weaving, and make your own sunhat on a block/mould using a variety of weaving techniques. The workshop is suitable for beginners, and those with some basket weaving experience.

Prior to the course you will need to make a block the same circumference as your head. This is a straightforward and enjoyable activity that requires only a tape measure, some tape, and a few old newspapers. Full instructions will be emailed to you prior to the course.
